About Me

With over 20 years of experience in architecture and interior design, I bring a holistic and forward-thinking approach to creating exceptional spaces. My academic journey began at Pratt Institute, where I earned a Master’s degree in Interior Design. Here, I cultivated a passion for human-centered design, blending creative expression with functionality.

I later expanded my expertise through a certificate in Construction Project Management from New York University, gaining the technical and leadership skills necessary to manage complex projects.

As an architect, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Dokuz Eylül University, where I developed a strong foundation in spatial dynamics and architectural precision. Over the years, I have contributed to award-winning international projects while working with leading firms, including TPG Architecture and Tabanlıoğlu Architects. My NCIDQ certification further underscores my commitment to design excellence and professional standards.

In addition to my professional practice, I am dedicated to educating future generations of architects and designers. As an adjunct faculty member at MEF University and previously at Yeditepe University, I have taught courses on sustainable architecture, LEED and WELL certification, and high-performance building systems. This dual role as a practitioner and educator allows me to stay at the forefront of innovation in the field.

As the founder of Studio Gonka, I integrate my diverse expertise into crafting transformative interiors that prioritize sustainability, functionality, and timeless design. Whether revitalizing homes or designing spaces for market success, my projects are guided by the motto, “Bloom the Room, Brighten the Space.” My vision is to create environments that inspire, enrich, and endure—elevating everyday living through exceptional design.
